This Site
Sacred Space currently comprises five main sections: Writings, Art, Icons, Photos and Reviews. All contain exactly what the title says they should contain. Journal is where I note updates to the site and perhaps blog a little about all the other topics that interest me.
History:
Sacred Space started out as an idea conceived by me in an asian history class my freshman year of college. Inspired by the idea of torii and labyrinths as entrances to sacred space, and my own personal obsession with finding such spaces within, I envisioned a website devoted to creative works of mine, a shrine to inspiration. I had another website at the time, so it was a side project, a place where I could post all my random bits of poetry and story ideas and the like.
Sacred Space has been through several incarnations since then, the most recent being as the writing and art section of “Sister of the Wind”, as I was calling my hunk of the domain at that point. I got sick of certain organizational flaws and pointless parts of “Sister of the Wind” so Sacred Space has taken over.
In 2006, I took the plunge and switched to using WordPress to organize the site. I like it, for the most part, although this is only halfway supposed to be a blog. One of these days, I’ll get all the content I have sitting on my hard drives for the various sections back up. One of these days.
